Founded in 1999, L’institut Servier is a non-profit association governed by the French law of 1901. The Institut’s purpose is to support scientific research and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge in the service of patients.
Engaged within the scientific community, L’institut Servier encourages the development of research in all its forms. It promotes the sharing of knowledge among researchers, clinicians and academic institutions.
As an independent structure, L’institut Servier does not aim to promote Group Servier’s products. Its work is entirely devoted to supporting research and disseminating scientific advances.

L’institut Servier works to support rigorous, internationally open scientific research. Through its initiatives, it helps foster collaboration among researchers, academic institutions and university hospital centres, in order to encourage the emergence of new medical knowledge.

L’institut Servier’s activities focus primarily on several areas of medical research: oncology, cardiovascular pathologies, neurodegenerative pathologies, with particular attention to paediatric pathologies.
L’institut Servier organizes scientific meetings and symposia in partnership with learned societies, university hospital networks, academic institutions and recognized universities.
It also supports research and encourages scientific vocations by awarding annual grants to young researchers, as well as prizes, subsidies and donations to research teams, foundations or institutions recognized as serving the public interest.
L’institut Servier supports young scientists by awarding research mobility grants to accompany their work. These grants enable them to train within research teams or centres, in France or abroad, in order to develop their skills and scientific projects across several major areas of medical research.
