Prof. Sadelain is the director and founder of the cellular engineering center and head of the gene transfer and genetic expression lab at the Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center in New York (USA).
Prof. Sadelain is renowned worldwide for the concept, preclinical demonstration, and clinical application of a new immunotherapy for cancer, based on the utilization of synthetic receptors that he calls “chimeric antigen receptors” (CARs) and in particular the CARs targeting CD 19.
